  John Tobey gave the first parcel of land to be used as a burying ground. He was also a founding member of the East Falmouth Methodist Church and gave the land on which the church was built.

John Tobey served in Capt. S. Hamlin's Company as a Private from Jan 28 - 31, June 13 - 14, and Oct 3 - 9, 1814, Service at Falmouth, MA.
